In the hyper-competitive landscape of modern e-commerce, your packaging is the only physical touchpoint that boasts a 100% open rate. For luxury, tech, grooming, and high-end apparel brands, standard brown corrugated cardboard simply does not align with a premium price tag.
At Pack Printers, our Custom Black Mailer Boxes are engineered to transform a standard delivery into a highly anticipated unboxing event. We combine industrial-grade structural integrity with flawless, deep-black printing techniques to ensure your products arrive safely while commanding instant brand respect.
Choosing black for your shipping boxes is a deliberate branding maneuver. Black communicates exclusivity, sophistication, and power. However, executing a flawless black box requires immense technical precision. A poorly printed black box can look washed out (charcoal grey), or worse, show unsightly scuff marks from the shipping process.
We utilize advanced prepress color calibration and premium laminations to guarantee a rich, light-absorbing “True Black” that serves as the perfect high-contrast canvas for your logos, metallic foils, and brand messaging.
A mailer box must survive a brutal journey—from the warehouse shelf to the delivery truck, and finally onto the customer’s porch. Whether you are shipping coast-to-coast across the USA via UPS, FedEx, or USPS, our boxes are rigorously tested to withstand high-impact transit environments.
We manufacture our mailers using superior corrugated board, measured by the Edge Crush Test (ECT) to guarantee stacking strength without unnecessary weight.
E-Flute Corrugated (32 ECT): The industry standard for premium mailers. At just 1/16″ thick, E-flute provides a perfectly smooth, flat surface for high-definition printing while offering incredible crush resistance for cosmetics, tech accessories, and apparel.
B-Flute Corrugated (32-44 ECT): At 1/8″ thick, B-flute is engineered for heavier items such as glass jars, bulky hardware, or large subscription boxes that require extra cushioning and structural rigidity.
There are two primary ways we manufacture black mailer boxes, depending on your brand’s aesthetic goals and budget.
We start with a bright white SBS (Solid Bleached Sulfate) linerboard and “flood print” the entire surface with a rich black ink.
Advantage: This allows for maximum color control, deep saturation, and the ability to add high-contrast graphics (like bright white logos or neon colors) directly over the black.
Interior: You can choose to leave the inside bright white for a clean contrast, or flood-print the interior black for a seamless “dark mode” unboxing experience.
Instead of printing black ink on white paper, the paper pulp itself is dyed black during the manufacturing process.
Advantage: This creates a through-and-through black box. If the edge of the cardboard is exposed, you see black fibers instead of a white paper core. It offers a highly sought-after raw, earthy, and ultra-matte texture.
Note: Because the board is uncoated, it absorbs light and ink differently, making it the perfect candidate for striking metallic foil stamping rather than standard CMYK printing.
Dark packaging is notoriously susceptible to showing fingerprints, dust, and transit scuffs. At Pack Printers, we protect your investment with specialized exterior coatings designed for the rigors of the postal system.
Anti-Scratch Matte Lamination: An absolute must for premium black boxes. This ultra-durable film protects the ink from scuffing against other boxes during transit, ensuring your package arrives looking pristine and velvety smooth.
Soft-Touch Lamination: Elevates the tactile experience by giving the box a soft, suede-like feel.
Spot UV Coating: Create a breathtaking visual effect by applying a clear, high-gloss varnish to your logo or brand pattern against the matte black background. The design stays subtle until it catches the light.
Hot Foil Stamping: Gold, silver, copper, or holographic foils applied directly to the black board create a striking, high-contrast look synonymous with high-end luxury goods.
The Roll End Tuck Front (RETF) or Roll End Tuck Top (RETT) styles are the gold standard for black mailers. They feature interlocking flaps and dust wings that securely close without the need for exterior packing tape, keeping your branding clean and uninterrupted.
