A paper tube is one of those formats that just feels right in the hand. It is round, it is solid, and it opens with a little bit of ceremony which is exactly why candles, spirits, tea, cosmetics and gift brands keep reaching for it. It also happens to be one of the more eco-friendly ways to package a product, since most of it is paper and card rather than plastic. We make custom paper tube packaging built around whatever goes inside the right diameter, the right height, and ends that suit the product, whether that is a snug metal cap or a fully recyclable paper one. As a paper tube manufacturer we handle it from the tube up, so you are not stitching together a tube from one supplier and a lid from another. Kraft paper tube packaging for a natural look, bright printed tubes for the shelf, push-up tubes for balms we size and print them to suit. It is part of our custom product packaging range, so the rest of your line can match.

Product Description

Why a tube instead of a box

A box is the right call for a lot of products, but a tube does a few things a box cannot. It protects round and fragile items better, because there are no corners to crush and the curved wall is strong. It stands out on a shelf full of rectangles. And it gives you that satisfying twist-or-lift opening that makes a product feel considered.

There is a practical side too. Cardboard tube packaging stores and ships tidily, the printing wraps all the way around so there is no blank back panel, and a kraft tube reads as eco without you having to say a word. For the right product, round tube packaging earns its place.

Why brands come to us for tube packaging

  • We size the tube to your product diameter and height so it fits snug, not loose.
  • Ends to suit the job: recyclable paper caps, premium metal caps, push-up bases or lift-off lids.
  • Printed all the way around in your colours, with no blank back panel.
  • Kraft for a natural look, white board for bold retail print, rigid for gift-grade.
  • Food-grade liner where the tube touches food, so nothing transfers.
  • Blank paper tubes available too, if you just need the tube and will label it yourself.

Who uses them

Candle and home-fragrance brands

Candles and tubes go together well. The tube protects the glass or tin, looks premium on a shelf, and the lift-off lid gives a nice reveal. We make kraft paper tube packaging for the natural, hand-poured look and printed tubes for brighter ranges, sized so the candle sits snug and does not rattle in transit.

Cosmetics, balms and skincare

Push-up paper tubes are a favourite for solid balms, deodorants and lip products the base slides up to dispense, and the whole thing is mostly paper instead of plastic, which suits clean-beauty brands. For jars and bottles, a printed tube around them adds protection and a premium unbox.

Food, tea and coffee

Tubes work nicely for tea, coffee beans, spices and snacks, especially with a food-grade liner inside and a snug metal cap to keep things fresh. The shape stands out next to bags and boxes, and the all-round print gives you plenty of room for the story and the brewing notes.

Spirits, gifts and premium sets

For spirits and gifting, a telescopic tube with a lift-off lid feels like an occasion. Rigid board, a foil logo and a snug fit around the bottle turn a single product into a gift worth giving. We can match the look to a brand or a seasonal theme.

Posters, prints and shipping

The original use for the tube and still a good one. Sturdy cardboard paper tube packaging protects rolled posters, prints and documents in the post, and a printed tube turns a plain mailer into part of the brand experience.

Tube types

There is more than one kind of tube, and the right one depends on the product. Here is a quick look.

Tube type Ends / lid Good for Note
Kraft paper tube Paper or metal caps Candles, food, eco brands Warm, recyclable look
White / printed tube Paper or metal caps Bold retail print Best for true colour
Push-up tube Sliding base Balms, deodorant, lip Dispenses product
Telescopic tube Lift-off lid Gifts, spirits, posters Premium unbox feel
Window tube Clear panel Showing the product Plastic film affects recycling

Kraft and printed tubes with caps cover most retail and gifting. Push-up tubes suit balms and solids. Telescopic tubes give the premium lift-off reveal. A window tube shows the product but the film does affect recycling we will flag that if it matters to you.

Closures and finish

The ends and the finish change both how the tube works and how it feels. Here are the main options.

Option What it is Best for Note
Paper caps Card lid both ends Eco, fully recyclable Cleanest end-of-life
Metal caps Tin lid both ends Premium, snug seal Adds weight and feel
Foil / soft-touch Premium finishes Gifts, luxury lines Lifts perceived value
Emboss / spot UV Texture & highlights Logos, brand detail Tactile, premium

Paper caps are the cleanest for recycling. Metal caps feel premium and seal snugly. Foil, soft-touch, emboss and spot UV are there when you want a tube to feel like a gift. We will suggest a combination that fits your product and your budget.

Getting the fit right

One thing worth saying from making a lot of these: measure the product, not the space you think you need. Give us the diameter and height of what is going inside the widest point and tell us if it is fragile or needs to slide in and out, like a candle you light and re-cover. We build the tube to fit snug so the product does not rattle, but not so tight that it is a struggle to get out. If you are not sure, send us the product or order a sample and try it before the full run. We send a proof and dieline on every job so you are signing off on a real fit, not a guess.

A note on food safety and recycling

Where the tube holds food, we line it with food-grade material and use low-migration inks meant for food contact, and our stock meets the usual food-packaging rules. On recycling, paper tubes with paper caps are about as clean as packaging gets mostly card, easy to recycle, and kraft is recyclable and often compostable. Metal caps, window film and foil all look great but make recycling a bit more involved, so we will be straight with you about the trade-off. If low waste is the priority, we will steer you to an all-paper build. Recycled and FSC® board are available too.

Want a tube that fits your product and looks the part on the shelf? Send your product size, the tube style and ends you want, your quantity and your artwork. We will come back with a dieline and a instant quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not if the insert is cut right. The cavity holds each pod upright and snug so it cannot tip or roll, which also makes the box feel full and solid when a customer picks it up. The trick is measuring to your actual pod too wide and it rattles, too tight and it is hard to get out. Send us your pod size and we cut the insert to match.
Yes. A k cup subscription box usually works best as a divided variety carton that separates the flavours and looks good in an unboxing photo. We size it to ship safely and print it so it feels like a treat on the doorstep, not a plain shipper. Tell us how many pods, how many flavours, and your brand look, and we will build it.
We do. A k cup gift box in rigid or premium board, with a foil logo or a soft-touch finish, turns a few pods into a proper present great for holidays, corporate gifts and samplers of your best roasts. We can match it to a seasonal theme or your brand colours. Just tell us the count and the look you are after.
Yes. Bulk cartons 24-count and up are priced down at volume, so the more you order the less each box costs. Handy for offices, hotels and steady retail. You still get the same custom insert, free Pantone® match and print options on a bulk run. Send your quantity and timeline and we will put together a bulk quote.
We keep minimums low so small roasters and new brands are not forced into huge orders. Normal turnaround is 10–12 working days after you approve the proof, with a rush of 6–8 days when slots are open. A printed sample takes a few days once the artwork is set, and we suggest one on a first order so you can check the print and the pod fit.
